Santa with Deer, Getting Close to the End
Posted On 05/26/2008 21:54:37 by lowvillecarver
What a fun but tedious carving this has been.   Problems galore but very interesting and lots of learning along the way.   Yesterday finally decided enough is enough...when do you really know when it is "done".   When you start looking at other wood and wondering what else you could be doing instead of picking away and second guessing yourself on this carving.   So got out the paints and went at it.   Spent most of the day on it, on and off, ... I am pleased to say that I couldn't have been more wrong about either of those things... but the meeting had a most unexpected outcome.
Allow me to back up just a bit...
I was getting ready to go yesterday... Read More

Butterflies
Posted On 05/12/2008 11:51:40 by FloydB
No, no.... I am not talking about carving butterflies.
I am talking about having butterflies.
You see, Hans Schwalm, one of the fellows who has been helping me by answering questions and generally letting me pester him with email after email, has invited me to go visit his class tonight... and to bring some of the things that I have been working on.
    *Gulp*
