Thanks for the kind words on the linenfold panel. The wood in that panel was very hard sugar maple. As a matter fact it was well seasoned, being cut-offs from WW II. I was lucky finding a pallet of about 500 bd. ft. of this material from a plant that installed wood floors in our army trucks during the war. All of it was top quality (nothing was too good for our government), and 3' lengths, perfect for the drawers I was making at the time. Then I got lucky again and ran across a tool box full of wooden planes and bought the round bottom ones I needed for most of the wood removal in this project. The retiring craftsman kept them in great condition and even sharpened.
I've never done scrolls or bookends. Do you know of any good sources of pictures or plans for them? I'd love to try them.
By the way, your website looks great. I have a graduate son (in computer science even) who says he'll help me with one but he never seems to have the time. Oh well!
Matt - I have tried to send a photo for my account, but I keep getting the red line saying "it will not support it". Our pictures are JPG. and it looks like your system does not support this. What do I do next?
