Butterflies
Posted On 05/12/2008 11:51:40 by FloydB
No, no.... I am not talking about carving butterflies.
I am talking about having butterflies.
    You see, Hans Schwalm,
one of the fellows who has been helping me by answering questions and generally letting me pester him with email after email, has invited me to go visit his class tonight... and to bring some of the things that I have been working on.
    *Gulp*
To get a general sense of why I might be feeling just a tad bit nervous, let's take a look at the websites of a couple of the folks in tonight's class.
    Hans Schwalm
    Fran Moore
    Doug Oliver
    See what I mean?
    *deep sigh*
I truly am looking forward to it.... I am just not used to being a complete novice in a room full of obviously talented people. LOL
Hans has been nothing but friendly and helpful, though, so I suppose that I really shouldn't sweat it too much. If they were going to take one look at my work and then tell me to go away (or what besides carving I could do with my tools) I suppose that he would have warned me.
    But still.... butterflies.
    Y'all wish me luck....

Good Luck Floyd.  I have been fortunate to have met and talked to many accomplished woodcarvers.  Some of which you see in the carving magazines each edition, and several who are members of the CCA.  I can tell you from personal experience that ANY of them are more than happy to give you advice, answer any questions you may have and help you along in your journey to become a woodcarver.
