I learned some basics of carving with power a few years ago when I learned to carve some basic designs in animal horns for decoration. I became interested in learning traditional wood carving recently (about a month ago as of 4/27/08) when my Dremel died. :^) Now I am completely addicted and looking forward to a lifetime (or at least the rest of it) learning to carve wood.

None so far, but I am looking...

My wife and I participate in historical re-enactment (in the Society for Creative Anachronisms) and we play in a celtic/medieval group named Gentrai. I play the guitar, the bouzouki, and the cittern and occasionally the flute and tinwhistle. As part of our SCA activities, I also enjoy leatherworking and combat re-enactment (I like dressing up in armor and hitting my friends with sticks). Sarah (my wife) and I share a passion for reading and, since I am an English prof by trade, I have a love for writing, as well.

Well, not that you would really want to at the moment because I am just learning... but my email address is [email protected]
